The CapitalBus acts as a global portfolio management feed translator. It is comprised of a central data dictionary definition combined with as many flexible INCENTAGE conversion components as necessary. The central data dictionary defines a representation of all positions, transactions and reference data in a common format.

For the asset manager, the CapitalBus offers the flexibility to collect positions and transactions from all depository banks that provide feeds. These feeds can then be used to supply data in the format expected by a specific PMS. The CapitalBus has a standard component for all major PMS to convert feeds to their format. If a new PMS is encountered, then INCENTAGE can quickly introduce an interface using its flexible rules based INCENTAGE Middleware Suite.
Even though the same version of a PMS is in use at two asset managers, it is probable that the internal data representation in the system will be different at each site. These differences can range from something as simple as the format of client identification codes to the most complex customisations. This of course can have an impact on the interface from depository banks. The flexibility of the CapitalBus design ensures that this is not an issue. Extra customisation components can be added to the standard PMS specific components to result in the delivery of a feed that is exactly in the format that the particular installation requires.
The CapitalBus also contains an optional market data component. If an asset manager has signed up to receive market data from a data provider (e.g. Telekurs, Reuters etc.), then the appropriate INCENTAGE component can be activated to transpose and deliver that data to the PMS in the desired format.
